ATTN: BOURNE; Cape Cod residents / South Shore residents HELP WANTED - One Day only DATE: Saturday, July 10, 2021. HOURS: 07:00am - 06:00pm (11.00 hours). TYPE OF WORK: Parking Attendants (see "specific details" below). QUANTITY OPENINGS/POSITIONS: Five (5). ADDRESS/LOCATION: MA Maritime Academy (multiple parking lots), 101 Academy Dr., Buzzards Bay (Bourne), MA 02532. EVENT: Bike Multiple Sclerosis: Cape Cod Getaway, a charity bicycle ride event. SPECIFIC DETAILS: * A Massachusetts corporation has been hired as the vendor to provide parking attendants for this year's annual "Bike MS: Cape Cod Getaway", a charity bicycle ride from Boston to Bourne. This year's finish line is at MA Maritime Academy, 101 Academy Dr., Buzzards Bay (Bourne), MA 02532. * It has been determined that an extra set of additional staff are needed to help get the participants parked in a timely manner. * The five (5) parking attendants will be paired with other recruited staff (for a total of 14 staff) will be supervised by a supervisor and assist in the flow of cars entering in from Academy Drive. Cars are "screened" and then directed to the appropriate parking lot parking one next to the other, and so forth. * This event could see approximately ~400 cars within the 11-hour period. * Parking attendants will be provided: a) lime-green traffic safety vest, b) lime green flag to direct cars (in the direction of flow), c) two-way portable radio to coordinate parking efforts, and d) pay/wages for hours worked. REQUIREMENTS: * Your identity - first & last name, mailing address, city, state, zip, e-mail address, and cell phone number. * Speak English fluently (no disrespect to anyone, but voice communication to one another is important to handle 800-1,000 cars in 4 hours or less). * Arrive on time, just prior and start promptly at 07:00am (Sat, 7/10). Report to: MA Maritime Academy - "Parking Lot C", 36 Academy Dr., Buzzards Bay, MA 02532. This will be on the left side prior to the main Maritime campus. * Common sense. * Remain calm! We have done this before many times. It does get stressful when participants are running late to arrive, park & check in with registration. The two-way radios will help us by relaying messages to one another where to direct cars, and keep things flowing smooth. * No one shall be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This is a professional charity bicycle ride and families will be present with their children. PAY RATE / WAGES: * $13.00 per hour. Working full shift = $143.00 plus fuel/gas/travel stipend. * Upon completion of everyone being parked at or about 6:00pm, and the day's end of the charity bicycle ride, our duties are completed. You will be paid in-person.
