Description

magicgravy - An Ultra-Rare Performance at Rosebud Crazy Horse Presents ALL AGES Behold members of ALO and The Motet launching into the funkiest, jazziest, earth-shattering, improv jam excursions you can possibly imagine Just like very few living people have witnessed a snow leopard, swam with narwhals or know Banksy’s true identity, the otherworldly powers of magicgravy still remain a secret to the masses. It’s no wonder seeing that they’ve averaged about two to three shows a year for the duration of their 16-year existence. Why is that? Simply because the members of this super group are too damn busy with their regular projects to converge more frequently. When they do, they are instantly shot out of a cannon; diving into the deep end of the most scintillating improv jamming of their generation. Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz on guitar (ALO, Phil Lesh & Friends), Garrett Sayers on bass (The Motet) and Dave Watts on drums (The Motet) don’t sound like the Hendrix Experience, Cream or Rush, but they are deserving of their own spot in the pantheon of legendary trios. They play like one unified organism; effortlessly twisting and turning down a gauntlet of infinite creativity. Each man elevates the other to the absolute peak of his game; pushing and pulling through the effortless flow of their hive mind. This is all-instrumental brilliance which springs from the foundation of the choicest classic jazz cuts. magicgravy follows its muse down the rabbit hole with surprising song themes woven into the mix, until you emerge 37 minutes later not knowing which way is up. The rhythm section of Sayers and Watts is the gold standard when it comes to the funkiest, nastiest, grooviest units in the business. If you can’t dance to this, well…probably time to check the old pulse. And it’s a major bonus that Sayers is about as fun to watch as he is to hear. Then you have Lebo who has transcended into a bona fide rock star of the jam world. If you think you like him with ALO, Phil, Stu, The Rock Collection or countless others, you haven’t really seen Lebo until you behold this version of him. This is the image of a guitar player possessed. He’s a Magellan of the six-string, doling out copious volumes of ear candy with his aggressive excursions of liquid ecstasy. With all that said, well, we’d suggest the time is ripe for you to behold the sonic splendor of this band in the coolest setting possible. It’s a very special private property, affectionately known as Rosebud – just a stone’s throw from the Yuba River – in Nevada City, CA. It’s an outdoor space with limited capacity but plenty of room to stretch out. One of the highlights is a turf dancefloor which is the spongiest surface to let loose upon. This is an early show with the curfew as the only element of limitation. Please trust us on this one and buy your tickets immediately. It will surely be one of the highlights of your year. Once you purchase your tickets, you’ll be contacted with more specific information and location details. Thanks in advance for supporting this one-of-a-kind event!
