JAMIE ADAMSONJamie began playing guitar at the age of 13 and like his Grandfather soon was making music on stage. Jamie began playing a snare and hi hat in church along side Ray Thompson from Mobile Alabama and developed that itch that all musicians get! By the time he turned 19 Jamie was playing locally in Mobile at local clubs like Austin's Country Palace, The Wild Wild West, other venues around the south. It wasn't long Jamie was packing his bags and heading north to Nashville where he spent the next 19 years developing his style, his voice, and his writing skills. Jamie shared a stage with greats like Steve Cropper, Jerry Waddell, Blind Mississippi Morris, Mark Collie, Terry Lee Burns, and Steve Saunders. All these talented individuals shared their love for music with Jamie and helped him build a solid foundation that will carry him through the rest of his career. So, if you love music, real honest music, with heartfelt lyrics, just take a listen and you will hear the difference. Every month, Jamie will make the expedition up the Plateau and will introduce us to some of the best writers in all of Tennessee. He has shared stages with some and written songs with many. The stories are enthralling, tapestries woven with notes. Joining Jamie on July 10th will be Corey Layne and James Crowley. COREY LAYNECorey Layne is an East Tennessee-born, grassroots, soulful country singer-songwriter who can often be found playing in Nashville. His music is heartfelt and written from a place of personal experiences and emotions. From struggle, loss, pain and addiction to happiness, success, redemption and sobriety, Corey continues to inspire people through the truth in his music. Corey began playing and singing when he was five years old and has been writing music since he was a teenager. By 2003, he won an International singing competition held at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. By 2010, he began traveling around the country singing background vocals with several gospel artists. A few years later, he signed his first record deal. While traveling to promote his first album, Corey, hit rock bottom with his addiction and checked himself into rehab after a near-death car accident. In 2017, after returning home from rehab, Corey began focusing back on his first love, country music. Through his music, he hopes people will see that he's not the same guy they knew who was walking down the street on the way to the pharmacy to get his pills that sent him down the road of addiction. He went from being bad to doing good when he not only saved his own life when he stopped using, but he has also helped dozens of other people do the same by sharing his journey. You can hear some of that story in Corey's first single that was released in December 2019, appropriately titled, "Cold December". In 2020, he signed with Empire Artist Management and released “Stay With Me” later that year, which was co-written with hit songwriter and multi-platinum-selling music producer, Steve Freeman. “Corey doesn’t sound like everyone else in Nashville, which is what initially drew me to him,” Freeman said. “The real, rawness of his voice just cuts through and makes you want to listen.”He's well on his way as he continues to garner attention from notable country artists, including Darryl Worley, who often played benefit concerts hosted by Corey's parents back in his hometown. JAMES CROWLEYJames Crowley a singer-songwriter and video producer based in the Upper Cumberland region of TN. With musical roots in bluegrass, jazz, folk, and acoustic pop, James writes songs about life with a deep connection to God and family. James was one of two winners(out of 30) from Grinder House to move forward to the next qualifying round of the Tennessee Songwriter Competition.
