The Nēnē Challenge is the first event to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Pāʻū O Hiʻiaka. The Nēnē Challenge is a benefit for Pāʻū O Hiʻiaka and a celebration of 45 years of hula under the direction of Kumu Hula Hōkūlani Holt. It will treat you to a fun-filled morning of getting to know our community, doing a variety of challenges, and just having some fun. It is a reimagined Maui version of The Amazing Race. Begin the day at the UH Maui College parking lot fronting the Hale and Noiʻi buildings, and spend the rest of that morning with a car full of friends and family doing challenges. Then end the morning at your final destination where we will enjoy being outside and where your picnic lunch will be provided. Each car can have no more than 4 adults in it. Keiki are welcome to ride along. Blue Level - $40/car: a gift bag and lunchOrangeLevel - $60/car: above + special parking at lunch sitePurple Level - $80/car: above + special seating + food serviceBring: your facemask, a hāliʻi or low-backed sand chair (for your picnic lunch), a water flask, hat, cellphone (with the Goosechase app downloaded), and a happy attitude. Wear comfortable clothes and footwear for the challenges. The lunch spot is outside so prepare for some sun. The members of Pāʻū O Hiʻiaka will also create snacks and desserts for you to purchase at the lunch site as well as special summer items made by the hālau.
