THE BACKSLIDERS: Inspired by Buck Owens, The Rolling Stones and the honky tonk life, Howell and Robinson put together The Backsliders. They quickly became a well loved and hugely received popular band in N.C. and abroad. JACK THE RADIO: Raleigh, North Carolina roots-rockers Jack the Radio blend rock and blues sensibility with Americana, folk, and country to create a tapestry of swampy southern-tinged sounds on their latest album release, Creatures. All of the songs on the album were written by singer George Hage with a common thread that weaves its way through telling us to stand strong as we ride out the highs and lows of what life throws at us. KATE RHUDY: Raleigh-based songwriter Kate Rhudy worked alongside collaborator and producer Andrew Marlin of Mandolin Orange to create her 2017 debut, Rock N’ Roll Ain’t For Me, which earned Rhudy nods from WUNC and INDY Week as “one of the Triangle’s sharpest young songwriters”. Rhudy’s plainspoken lyrics garnered recognition from She Shreds, “Kate Rhudy is changing the name of country by doing things her own way” and The Strangers Almanac, “for those tired of Americana music from the male perspective, give Kate Rhudy's debut a shot”. On January 3, 2020, Kate Rhudy's sold out performance at The Pour House was recorded and has been pressed to a limited edition run of 300 vinyl records exclusively available at The Pour House. Record shop by day. Live music venue by night. Raleigh's home for all things music featuring national and locally touring bands, an extensive vinyl record selection and two full bars.
