Description
Calling all SPADES level players to the table. No BLINDS, no NILs, Joker...Joker...Deuce...Ace of Spades! Official Rules • GAMEPLAY. Games to 350, except the Championship game, which will be to 500. • TRUMP. The top trumps will be Big Joker, Little Joker, Deuce of Spaces, Ace of Spades, and so forth. The Big Joker is identified by being in color, whereas the Little Joker is black and white. • DEALING. Dealing of cards will be in a clockwise motion and will not include cross-dealing. “Heat checks” or flipping cards up purposefully during dealing will not be allowed. • Hands dealt without SPADES and/or face cards will STILL be played. • BLIND/NIL. Blind and Nil and variations of either WILL NOT be allowed. • BIDDING. First hand bids itself. Calling tricks is not needed on the first hand. • Game can end on the first hand if a team reaches ten books, i.e., 10 for 2 on the first hand means the game is over and the team achieving advances to the next round. • When bidding, at least 11 books need to be bid between teams or the hand is thrown in and re-dealt. o Example: Team A bids SIX while Team B bids BOARD (FOUR). If neither team is willing to bid the extra book needed, the hand ends. Cards are then reshuffled and dealt. • First games will start no later than 15 minutes after initial welcome. If a team is not in place at start time, they will forfeit their game and it WILL NOT be rescheduled. • Books won will be lain in a manner for easy counting. Mixing of completed made books will not be allowed. Failure to adhere will incur a two-book penalty. Reasoning: (see Reneging) • SANDBAG. Books WILL count in that receiving ten (10) over books will result in losing 100 points for that team. Over books WILL NOT count towards final score, i.e., teams cannot be awarded a victory based off extra books. Instead, a tiebreaker hands will be played until one team scores higher than the other in total completed “bid” books. o Example: Both teams score 350 at the same time; however, team A has 354 (based off sandbag books). The game will enter a tiebreaker hand. • RENEGING. Misplaying a book, i.e., “reneging”, will induce a three-book penalty. The team calling the renege must point out the book and the opponent where the suspected renege occurred WITHOUT searching every book. If no evidence of reneging occurred or the suspected book cannot be identified, then the accusing team is penalized three books and the game play resumes. o Example: Team B suspects that Team A reneged on a played hand number three. Team B identifies the suspected renege occurrence by accurately pointing and then displaying the book. Team B is rewarded three books. Team B will not be penalized with sandbag books. o Example: Team B suspects Team A reneged on a played hand; however, misidentify the book. Team B forfeits three books. Team A will not be penalized with counted sandbag books.
