TEWKSBURY, MA — The Wilmington Cultural Council has been awarded an $8,000 state grant, state Rep. Dave Robertson said. Grants are available to all Massachusetts communities to fund accessible local programming. Wilmington's award goes to projects including the library-sponsored trips to the Museum of Fine Arts and Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, a Hip-Hop Dance Chair Exercise for Seniors, and Musical Video-DVDs for Long Term Care and Assisted Living Patients to be entertained and active. "With Massachusetts just about fully open, people are excited for these local events again that really add a feeling of home to our towns," Robertson said. "People like Wilmington Cultural Council Chair [Jean] Chang and Tewksbury's Chair [Christian] Pasanuk, or library staff like Tina Stewart and Robert Hayes take this money and create these events for everyone." Christopher Huffaker can be reached at 412-265-8353 or [email protected].
