MADISON, WI—Live music is back in Madison, and this summer has no shortage of outdoor and free concert series. Here is your guide to outdoor music events this summer. Are we missing an event? Send it to [email protected]! Concerts on the Square—Located at Breese Stevens Field, this concert series will take place every Wednesday from July 7 until August 14. Hosted by the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, viewers can enjoy classical music and the fresh air. General admission tickets start at $10. Gazebo Muzik—Located at Rotary Park in Stoughton, the concert series will take place at 6 p.m. every Thursday until Sept. 2. Viewers can bring a cooler or purchase refreshments while enjoying a variety of musical performances. Jazz at Five—Now located at McKee Park in Fitchburg for the 2021 season, the performance series will take place Aug. 11, 18 and 25 and Sept. 1 and 8. Viewers can bring a picnic and enjoy performances from local jazz artists. Mad Lit—Located at 100 State Street, this street festival will take place every other week starting Friday, July 2 through Oct. 8. The event will feature live music, art and pop-up shops run by people of color. Middleton Community Orchestra—Located at Fireman's Park, the Summer 2021 Concert Series will include two more shows from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 25 and Aug.15. Viewers can enjoy free classical music with a picnic lunch. Music on Main—Located at Hometown Junction Park in Verona, the free concerts series takes place every other Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The next show is July 9. Music on the Lake—Located at the East Side Club in Madison, the live music series will take place at 5:30 p.m. every Sunday until Aug.5. Many of the shows are free admission, and viewers can enjoy hearing from a variety of local musicians. Memorial Union Terrace—Located on the terrace, the Wisconsin Union is putting on live music shows throughout the summer. Viewers can grab dinner while enjoying a free lakeside show. Sugar Maple Music Festival—In addition to the two-day festival on Aug. 6 and 7, Sugar Maple is holding a number of outdoor concerts this summer. Located at Biergarten in Olbrich Park, visitors can grab a drink, admire the lake and watch live performances on July 3, 10 and 24. The Sylvee—Located at The Sylvee Side Stage, the outdoor concert series will include free shows and local artists throughout the whole summer. Shows begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays and 6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Warner Park Summer Concert Series—Located at Warner Park, the concert series will take place at 6 p.m. every Monday. Hosted by the Madison nonprofit, NewBridge, the free outdoor series will run until Aug. 16.
