BROCKTON, MA — A community hit especially hard during the COVID-19 pandemic has something to be proud of. "The City of Champions," has shown their fighting spirit by hitting a major milestone Wednesday when the city announced they have no new COVID-19 cases for the first time in 15 months, in a tweet. In April this year, Brockton returned to being one of Massachusetts' red zones - meaning the city had experienced eight or more cases every day per 100,000 residents over a two-week period. Brockton's Board of Health stated that the city was back in the state's red zone with a total of about 230 cases citywide and 4.2 percent of tests coming back positive - a step back for a city that had just gotten out of being a high-risk zone. But now, the twitter account for the City of Brockon says, "ZERO positive tests for the 1st time in 15 months. Just amazing! Keep up the great work Brockton!"
