BOSTON, MA — Police are investigating after a Rabbi was stabbed multiple times Thursday in front of a Jewish Day School in Brighton.
Boston Police have arrested Khaled Awad, 24, of Brighton, who is expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court on charges of Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.
The Rabbi, whose name was not released, was taken to a nearby hospital where police said his injuries were not life-threatening.
The stabbing was reported around 1:19 p.m., and it took place outside the Shaloh House Hebrew Day School on Chestnut Hill Avenue near Dighton Street, according to Boston Police.
Chestnut Hill Ave was detoured at Academy Hill Road and at Washington Road for at least two hours, prompting heavy traffic in the area.
