BOSTON, MA — Boston Police received a report of swimmers struggling in the water near Castle Island around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
After rescuing one of the swimmers, police launched a massive search around South Boston beaches that ended around 8 p.m. when State Police say they found the body of the missing teenaged swimmer.
Police have not released the teen's identity, but the Boston Globe reports that he was a 19-year-old who was swimming with his brother when he apparently had some type of medical condition that might have initiated a seizure, based off of what the family had said.
William J. Day Boulevard was completely blocked off for over six hours. This is a breaking story, check back with us for updates.
