HARLEM, NY — The new Uptown Night Market coming to Harlem later this month has revealed more than 40 food vendors expected to join the event — including many recognizable names, and with more still to come. The open-air market will begin July 8 and continue on the second Thursday of every month through Nov. 11. It will run from 4-10 p.m. on 12th Avenue and West 133rd Street, below Riverside Drive. Among the newly announced additions: Harlem Shake, Harlem Seafood Soul, CBao Asian Buns and Dre's Water Ice. Other prominent eateries, including Katz's Deli and Melba's, are still in talks to join, according to organizers MASC Hospitality Group. Meanwhile, organizers also said Wednesday that the Night Market had become part of Harlem Week, the annual celebration of arts, culture and cuisine that is set to run from Aug. 6–15 this year. The market's first two live performers were also revealed this week: jazz singer Lynette Washington and hip hop artist DJ Stormin' Norman.
