MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II The Courtyard Marriott is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for our Downtown Hotel in Tacoma, WA. The Maintenance Technician II performs general and preventative maintenance of all equipment, physical structures, and landscaping in compliance with corporate/franchise standards to protect the asset; ensuring optimum operations and maximizing guest satisfaction. STATUS: • Full Time SCHEDULE: • Must be flexible (90% set schedule) RATE OF PAY: • $18.15/Hr. to 19.20/Hr. DOE BENEFITS AND PERKS: $600 Sign on bonus to be paid in two installments • Paid Time Off • Holiday Pay • Hotel Travel Discounts • Employee Assistance Programs • Company Paid Parking For eligible employees: • Insurance - Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and AD&D • Supplemental Insurance • 401(k) Plan QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: • General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting and carpentry required • Wall paper and carpet repair skills preferred • A understanding of fire protection equipment, fire panel and procedures • Skilled in one or more of the trades, electrical, plumbing, hvac Skills and Ability to: • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and complete routine reports and logs • Communicate effectively in a courteous manner with guests and coworkers and maintain positive guest relations at all times • Add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of weight, volume and distance • Work independently and as part of a team to complete daily activities • Meet attendance requirements with dependability and consistency • Manage one’s time in order to meet productivity standards Education and Experience: • Three years’ experience in building maintenance or equivalent combination of experience and education • Previous experience in hospitality at a similarly sized property highly preferred • Previous preventative maintenance experience preferred Licenses: • Must possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to see, walk, stand, bend, climb, balance, lift, carry, crouch, kneel, push and pull.
