I want to start a band to play in the local bars, backyards and or beach bbq. Plugged in or acoustic. For 100 people or just 1. Old Country and Cowboy songs. Covers to start but with an Ocean Beach twist. Waylon and Bobby Bare off the live records. Also people like Steve Earle, Townes Van Zandr, Ramblin Jack, Woody Guthrie, Blaze Foley, Hank Williams, Robert Earl Keen, Willie Nelson, Todd Snider, John Prine, Mr. Cash, Guy Clark and anything we want to play for people. My goal is to have people sing along and maybe have a beer or two and forget about the bullshit for a while and smile at a good old country song with an OB twist. Now, I’m not saying I know a bunch of songs……I’m saying lets learn some. I play guitar. Not a beginner but not pro. We can take turns singing. Havn’t been in a band in over 20 years. I’m over 40 with a career so not looking to quit my job to tour…….but then again….its gotta be fun but serious. If we start writing our own songs then Hell yes. Anyone interested? Also Bro country bullshit fans need not apply! Thanks!
