Mechanic- Landscape Construction & Rental Service FULL-TIME or PART-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE As the Mechanic you will be responsible for maintaining the rental and land restoration equipment as well as repairing chainsaws, brush mowers, lawn mowers, snow blowers and other small engine equipment that customers bring in for repairs. You will be one of the faces of the organization who engages with our local customers in Western Wisconsin. and for Landbridge Ecological equipment to complete landscape installation and land management projects. Landbridge Tool & Supply in Somerset is new expansion of Landbridge. This position is the inaugural Mechanic position who will play a crucial role in creating successful growth in our newest endeavor. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ▪ Maintains current knowledge of Toro, Stihl, Bobcat, and CAT equipment ▪ Provide customers with high-quality repairs and demonstrate a sense of urgency to complete the repair ▪ Deliver customer service (communication, rapport building, attentiveness to customer needs, education etc.) ▪ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment ▪ Maintain a variety of landscaping focused equipment: tractors, tillers, BCS, excavators, bobcats and the like to ensure safe operation for our customers and crews ▪ Check equipment upon return and ensure any damage is repaired and the equipment is running properly ▪ Order parts for equipment to repair and maintain ▪ Transport equipment to and from jobsites, other Landbridge locations, and customers’ homes ▪ Follow and maintain with others proper safety procedures ▪ Assist with tracking and reconciling inventory ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES ▪ Build customer relationships for equipment repairs and also rentals and sales ▪ Assist with executing the entire rental process, including opening and closing of rental contracts, determining total charges, helping load equipment, and inspecting equipment upon return ▪ Work with customers in purchasing the best Stihl and Toro equipment for their projects ▪ Build your knowledge and capacity to discuss and sell Land Restoration projects with customers ▪ Employees are expected to always present themselves in a professional manner QUALIFICATIONS ▪ 3+ years experience and proficiency in small engines, lawn mowers, tractors and implements, skid steers, excavators, electronics, hydraulics, gas, and diesel equipment ▪ Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills ▪ Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures ▪ Toro, Stihl, and Bobcat experience and training are highly desired ▪ Dependability and an ability to work independently and achieve equipment priorities and deadlines ▪ Highly motivated with an attention to detail and following processes ▪ Knowledge in some or all of these areas; hydraulics, electronics, gas, and diesel equipment ▪ Possess strong communication skills with ability to work independently and as part of a team ▪ Must possess a clean driving record and valid driver’s license (ability to obtain MNDOT Health card) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ▪ Mechanic and engine repair schooling and certifications ▪ Experience with inventory and work order systems ▪ Class A MN Commercial License a plus GENERAL EXPECTATIONS ▪ Position will start in late August to September ▪ Tools will be provided by Landbridge ▪ Work weeks will be 30-40 hours depending on workload, less in the slower months ▪ Work is conducted in two locations as repairs are needed.
