Maintenance Worker II – Wastewater Treatment Wastewater Division Public Works Department Application deadline: Thursday, July 22, 2021 Visit www.icgov.org/jobs to apply online One permanent full time position available Full salary range: $47,465.60 - $61,110.40 Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm Includes on call every 7 weeks Job summary: Under general direction, assists with performs general maintenance and repairs of plant processing equipment and lift stations. Performs specialized construction, modifications and installation of equipment and structures. Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of experience in equipment repair and maintenance or in a related field required. Must live within 17 miles of the corporate limits of Iowa City, Iowa within one year of appointment to the position. Valid Iowa Class B commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement and satisfactory driving record required. Valid Iowa Class A commercial driver's license with airbrake and tank endorsements required within 6 months of hire. This position is subject to federal drug testing requirements including screening through the FMCSA Clearinghouse. A pre-employment drug screen is required. Must be 18 years of age per Iowa Code 92.8. Must pass criminal background check. Preferred qualifications: Confined space entry training preferred. Forklift certification preferred. Flagging training preferred. Competent person training in shoring and trenching preferred. Iowa DNR Grade I Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate or higher preferred.
