There are 6 primary divisions of the company: Fiber Services, Construction Services, Structured Cabling Services, Home Services, Business Services, and Emergency Services. The various divisions of the company allow National OnDemand to provide full turnkey solutions to all customers. Job purpose This position is responsible for working with project teams on the installation and maintenance of security systems. Projects may include commercial intrusion, access control, video surveillance and fire detection. Additional tasks may include installation of structured cabling to support wireless, data, and video. Duties and responsibilities Install commercial and/or residential intrusion, access control, CCTV, and fire detection hardware to include cabling and other forms as technology continues to evolve. Testing of installed equipment and provide basic programming, such as, adding card readers, cameras and alarm points to any system. Perform preventive maintenance and repair as per a client maintenance agreement and/or warranty. Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing systems and/or equipment. Qualifications Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have at least three (3) years of full-time experience as an installer or service technician Required to have had experience in the commercial and residential service and installation of: Fire, security, CCTV, and access control systems System programming and commissioning IP-based security systems Strong understanding of TCP/IP preferred Certifications and training in access control, video and intrusion systems, including fire systems, preferred. Must be willing to participate in emergency on-call rotations. Must be willing to travel. Must be willing to stay overnight in hotels 2-3 nights per week if needed (accommodations provided by company) Strong verbal and written communication ability Ability to work independently or as a team player. Valid driver’s license needed. Requires completion of background and MVR checks. Working conditions While performing duties, the employee will work primarily in the field. The employee may be required to work outdoors in all types of weather and may be exposed to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levels. Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear.
