Need carburetor tune up.

I have a 1975 BMW. My baby. But, it needs a tune up. I have put in the new plugs, wires, points rotor and cap. But, it isn't easy to get it smooth running. I have tried. I can take it to a specialist, but all I want is the engine brought to specs. I know an old school motor head exists and would love to come to my aid. I'm in Asbury Park.
