Aquacultural Research Corporation (A.R.C.), a leading Shellfish Hatchery, Farm and Wholesale business is seeking a backup Nightwatch Systems Monitor. This is initially a part-time position for the 2nd and 3rd shift. The successful candidate will be given opportunities for extra shifts, and the possibility of moving to positions in other departments (farm crew, warehouse team, packing, driving, etc.). Position Overview A.R.C.’s Nightwatch Systems Monitor is a reliable, responsible and well-organized staff person assisting with after-hours monitoring of life support systems for the Hatchery, Nursery and Wholesale Operation. The Nightwatch Systems Monitor reports directly to the Hatchery Manager, is a team player, and has excellent observational and communication skills. Responsibilities and Duties • Conduct hourly rounds to verify that all operations are functioning properly • Log data hourly • Greet and record people entering and leaving the property • Alert the Hatchery Manager and General Manager of system malfunctions • Assist with light repairs and adjustments • Perform other duties as directed, including but not limited to: 1. Changing filters 2. Cleaning pump baskets 3. Monitoring the backup generator when operating Qualifications and Skills • Minimum of a High School Diploma, preferred but not required • Ability to work independently • Some mechanical aptitude (procedures can be taught) • Excellent verbal and written communications • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions • Team oriented and reliable
