New Orleans Apartment Management and Marketing is looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician for multiple Scattered Site Homes in New Orleans. Candidates must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions and be able to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships. Candidates must have a truck or van. Candidates must be willing to travel to multiple properties daily, have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and pass a criminal background check and a drug screen. Basic Knowledge Of: • Electrical and plumbing (including water lines). • General Carpentry • A/C and heating systems. • Appliances (when applicable). • Stairs, gates, fences, railings. • Tile, carpet, flooring (sub-flooring) • Roofing, gutters, fasteners. • Interior/exterior lights. • Fireplaces, (where applicable). • Gas fixtures and appliances (where applicable) • Shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding doors. • Hot water tanks, gas and electric • Door locks, P.O. boxes and locks • Ceiling leaks • Drywall • Painting Ideal candidates will have: • One year experience as a maintenance tech for multi-family buildings • Strong customer service background and skills • Projection of a professional image by following the dress code and appearance standards as set forth by the community. • Reliable transportation • Basic mechanical aptitude • A willingness to be trained. • Prior maintenance experience • A positive, upbeat attitude • A work record of good attendance and punctuality • Access to basic hand tools (i.e., drill, channel locks, pliers, saw and hammer). • Must be able to handle on-call maintenance emergency after hour calls on a rotating schedule. • Occasional Saturday schedule
