Description

Southern Ohio Flying Canines at Goodale Park on July 14th! Friends of Goodale Park will host The Southern Ohio Flying K9s on July 14 with demonstrations of the sport at 6:30 and 7:45 pm. Dogs and their human disc throwers compete in events such as distance catching and choregraphed freestyle catching. The sport celebrates the bond between handler and dog by allowing them to work together. Demos typically consist of freestyle portion (handler and dog perform tricks with multiple frisbees), toss and fetch portion, and an educational portion where we teach the audience how to get their own dogs started in frisbee. Based in Columbus the Southern Ohio flying K9s are a nonprofit club for disc dog enthusiasts. The club consists of human and canine disc fanatics of all skill levels, from the backyard players to world championship qualifiers. They started in 2002 in the Cincinnati area, and have expanded to include members all over Ohio and the Midwest. The club offers competitions, demos, and training all around Ohio.
