The Sacramento Poor People’s Campaign and South Oak Park Community Association will hold a community awareness event and press conference Thursday, July 8 at 10:30AM at Jack Davis Park in the South Oak Park neighborhood to provide information about the child tax credit and the application process. Parents can sign up at ChildTaxCredit.gov. The site will ask for social security numbers for the parents and children, a reliable mailing address, and an email address.
Community partners: Sacramento Poor People’s Campaign, South Oak Park Community Association, Sacramento Area Black Caucus, Sacramento SOUP, Sacramento Building Healthy Communities, Sacramento Black Child Development Institute, Sacramento Homeless Union, Community Lead Advocacy Program (CLAP), NorCal Resist, Southeast Village Neighborhood Association and Coalition of Labor Union Women – CA Capital Chapter.
The press conference/community event is part of a national Child Tax Credit Awareness Day to spread the word about the tax credit and encourage families to apply.
