SHREWSBURY, MA — A Shrewsbury Police Officer was hit by a vehicle while working a traffic detail Wednesday morning. A vehicle hit the officer who was in the middle of the road at the intersection of Hartford Turnpike (Rt. 20) and Lake Street at 9:38 a.m. The officer was injured and taken to UMass University Campus with the help of additional officers from the Shrewsbury Police Department, Fire Department and Worcester EMS. Police did not say what kind of vehicle struck the officer and no other information was given. The incident remains under investigation by the Shrewsbury Police Department.
