Description

Since I moved to the bay area for my job a few years ago, I have really missed getting to play with other musicians. I write music and do sound design for a prominent podcast / public radio show, and I am comfortable playing multiple genres; I love playing psych, indie rock, krautrock, ambient, freak-folk, and electronic with an experimental edge, and I find a joy in minimalism. Making beats is also something I enjoy, and I'm inspired by Eno, Stars of the Lid, Steve Gunn, Angel Olsen, Terry Riley, Prince, Mdou Moctar, and Young Fathers these days. I play electric and acoustic guitars, and love fingerpicking as much as I do generating pedals-based soundscapes. I've sung and played piano / keys my whole life, and I love picking up the right tool for the song. I'm looking for kindred spirits to write + gig with. Queer-friendly, family schedule-friendly, easygoing, a musician first – if you like to play more than one instrument, that's something I encourage. If you play the drums, that would be excellent. If you play the drums like Jaki Liebezeit, I want to know you. Without getting too fancy about it, I'm an expert in Pro Tools and I am pretty comfortable in Ableton, so if you're interested in recording and making records, I am, too. No hard drugs or excessive drinking, please, but I'm a highly functional stoner and it's ok if you fit that description, too. I am also fully vaxxed and comfortable playing unmasked with others who are also vaccinated. Let me know if you want to jam, with or without an Oblique Strategies deck. You can find a few of my tracks for my current project up at https://decodedforests.bandcamp.com.
