SPRING VALLEY, NY — The mother of a 1-year-old who died June 19 while she was not home has been indicted by a Rockland County grand jury. Marie Dorleus, 36, left her three children, the oldest of whom was 6, at home alone for several hours that evening. The 1-year-old became trapped between a bed and a wall in the apartment on Kennedy Drive. Emergency responders were called at 8:40 p.m. The child, who was unresponsive when they got there, was pronounced dead at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. The Journal News reported that in the indictment she was also charged with criminally negligent homicide and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
