SUFFERN, NY — A Suffern resident convicted in 2015 of possessing and sharing child pornography was arrested Tuesday and accused of violating New York's sex offender registration act. In a joint operation with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Suffern village police executed a search warrant at Michael Eisenberg's home on Parkside Drive. "Numerous pieces of evidence were seized and Mr. Eisenberg was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of violating the sex offender registration act, a class E felony," police said. Eisenberg was arraigned in the Suffern Justice Court and sent to Rockland County Jail, pending future court appearances. Eisenberg was designated a level 3 sex offender, deemed at high risk of repeat offense and a threat to public safety. Eisenberg had been convicted in Westchester County of possessing and promoting sexual performances by children. He was sentenced to three to six years in prison. As a Level 3 offender, he had to verify his address every 90 days with Suffern police. His most recent photo on the state's sex offender registry was taken this year.
