3 Lakeland Residents Face Capitol Insurrection Charges: Reports

LAKELAND, FL — A recently terminated Polk County EMT worker and two other Lakeland residents were arrested Wednesday on charges connected to the Jan. 6 United States Capitol insurrection, WFLA reported Joshua Doolin, 23, the former EMT worker, Michael Perkins and Olivia Pollock were in the Tampa courthouse Wednesday afternoon after federal agents executed a search warrant Wednesday morning at a Lakeland home near the intersection of N. Galloway Road and Spivey Road. All three of the defendants face charges including assault, resisting, impeding officers, employees and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. Perkins is accused of beating a police officer in the head with a flagpole, according to the prosecutor, the TV outlet reported. Perkins will be held in jail pending a detention hearing per the judge's order. Doolin and Pollock are required by the judge to surrender their passports and guns, and must wear GPS monitoring devices. A spokesperson from Polk County said that Doolin was hired as an EMT with Polk County Fire Rescue May 3, WTSP reported. He has since been terminated.
