Scooter Driver Seriously Injured In Crash: Westport Police

WESTPORT, CT — The driver of a scooter was seriously injured Tuesday night after the vehicle collided with a car in Westport, according to police. In a news release, Lt. Dave Wolf said the serious collision occurred around 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Post Road East and Bulkley Avenue. According to Wolf, the driver of the scooter was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be serious injuries. The driver of the car remained at the intersection and is cooperating with police, Wolf said. The road was closed for several hours but has since reopened, Wolf said. The department's accident investigation team is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Fairfield Police Accident Investigation Team.
