Press release from the City of Cambridge: June 30, 2021 The Cambridge Workforce Development Study, conducted by the UMass Donahue Institute and the UMass Center for Social Policy Research, identifies the Cambridge residents who could benefit most from creative workforce development initiatives and includes a foreword outlining the economic impacts of COVID-19. The study was commissioned by the City of Cambridge and the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority (CRA). On June 22, Dr. Mark Melnick, Director of Economic and Public Policy Research at UMass Donahue Institute, presented the study's findings. Click here to view the presentation slides. In partnership with the CRA, the City of Cambridge, including staff in the Office of Workforce Development and the Community Development Department, are engaging stakeholders in considering action steps that will address inequities in the Cambridge labor market and support residents in accessing City and community-based workforce development services.
