STAMFORD, CT — A New York man was apprehended and extradited to Connecticut where he was charged with stealing roughly $32,000 worth of sunglasses and designer bags, according to the Stamford Police Department. Isaac Bones, 38, was arrested in Oriskany, N.Y. last Friday by Stamford investigators. Bones, originally from Mount Vernon, N.Y., was serving time in the Oneida County Correctional Facility. Capt. Richard Conklin of the SPD said that in May of 2016, Bones stole about $4,000 worth of high-end sunglasses from Solstice Sunglasses in the Stamford Mall. A week later, Conklin said Bones and an accomplice went to Saks Fifth Avenue, broke a display case, and snatched $28,000 worth of designer purses. A warrant for Bones' arrest had been on file, and only when he was set to be released in New York did Stamford authorities apprehend him. "Our property crime investigators did a good job and they were able to identify him and his co-conspirator in the Saks case," Conklin said. Bones is charged with first-degree larceny, first-degree conspiracy at larceny, second-degree larceny, second-degree conspiracy at larceny, and second-degree criminal mischief. A cash-only bond was set at $58,025. Bones remains in custody.
