REDMOND, WA — One day after Washington reached its reopening milestone, the city of Redmond is reopening most of its facilities to the public. Closed to the public since March 2020, Redmond's will reopen City Hall, fire stations, the public safety building and the Community Center at Marymoor Village on July 1. The City Council will resume its in-person meetings after the July 4 holiday, but some meetings will remain virtual for the time being. In a news release, Redmond officials said it created a five-stage reopening plan to welcome staffers and customers back to all city services and departments, in accordance with guidance issued by the state. At first, city facilities will run at limited hours, open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Later stages will restore regular hours and the "new normal." The Redmond Pool is slated to reopen later in July, followed by the return of the Old Firehouse Teen Center and senior programming at Bytes Cafe later this year.
