Backpack and school supply giveaway for Veteran households with school age children. United Way of Broward County's MISSION UNITED is once again hosting our annual backpack giveaway for Veteran families with school age children in their household! Must present Veteran ID at time of pick-up. The event is open to all Veterans, Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve members who are Broward County Residents. Please request only one (1) backpack per child for children that live in your home. Maximum of six (6) backpacks per household. You MUST present your Eventbrite ticket and proof of Veteran or military status to pick-up your backpack(s). No exceptions.  Backpacks can be picked up on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 between 4pm and 6pm at the Jean and David Colker Center located at 1300 S. Andrews Ave, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316. For your safety, please arrive with an empty trunk. Backpacks(s)will be placed in the trunk. This will be a drive through event. Please present your registration through the window. Please wear a mask. Bring: 1-      Veteran Identification  (military ID, VA ID, Etc.) 2- Your Eventbrite Registration *****Please email [email protected] with any questions United Way takes the safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors very seriously. To that end, we require everyone to wear a facial covering (for example a mask) during all in-person interactions. I understand that even while wearing a facial covering, everyone most, wherever possible, remain six feet of social distancing. I understand that I am serving as a volunteer for United Way and that I will not be compensated for my efforts. I hereby release and hold harmless this agency, United Way of Broward County, all involved nonprofits, and organizations, my employer its affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents and successors from any illness or injury, including Coronavirus, sustained by me. I happily would love to join the United Way email list. I do hereby give United Way of Broward County their assigns, licensees, and legal representatives the irrevocable right to use my name / or any fictional name, photograph image and/or statement(s) in all forms and media and in all manners, including composite or distorted representations, for advertising, trade or any other lawful purposes, including on printed advertising and promotional material and on websites and other electronic media and I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished version(s), including written copy that may be created in connection therewith. This consent is expressly intended to release United Way of Broward County from liability.
