Bellevue City Hall Reopens To The Public On July 6

BELLEVUE, WA — Bellevue is preparing to reopen City Hall to the public in July, marking a major milestone since pandemic closures began in March 2020. City Hall will be open for limited hours during the week after the holiday weekend, beginning July 6. In the first phase, visitors will be able to access a few in-person services Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The in-person options include: Service First help desk Utility bill payment (9 a.m.-noon)Police records "It is so encouraging to reach this point," said Bellevue Mayor Lynne Robinson. "While city employees have managed to successfully deliver key services online, they are ready to serve community members in person again at city facilities." State guidelines require visitors to complete seld-health screenings, and any employees or residents who are not yet vaccinated will still need to wear face coverings inside. Anyone who feels more comfortable wearing a mask may also continue to do so. The permitting center will continue to operate by phone and e-mail initially, but officials plan to restore in-person options later in July. The Bellevue City Council will continue to meet virtually until later in the year. Other city facilities, including community centers, are already in the process of reopening, and plans are in the works for more in-person options, including at police substations. "We pride ourselves on providing exceptional public service, and know it will be a little easier to do that with both online and in-person options," said Brad Miyake, Bellevue City Manager. "I also want to recognize and commend the many dedicated employees who have been serving residents in person throughout the pandemic. We couldn't have gotten this far without them."
