Venture General Contracting is currently hiring for a Carpenter to join our team. Position Description: o Studying blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required. o Select specified type of lumber or other materials. o Mark cutting and assembly lines on materials. o Shape materials to prescribed measurements. o Assemble cut and shaped materials and fastens them together. o Erect framework for structures and lays sub flooring. o Build stairs and lay out, install partitions and cabinetwork. o Cover sub floor with building paper to keep out moisture and lays hardwood, parquet, and wood-strip-block floors by nailing floors to sub floor or cementing them to mastic or asphalt base. o Apply shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, and decorative paneling to ceilings and walls. o Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, doorframes, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware. o Other duties as assigned. Position Requirement o High School Diploma or GED required. o Two years of experience working in the construction industry. o Able to operate computers, basic word processing, spreadsheet and email. o Knowledge of commercial and multi-family construction techniques, tools and equipment. o Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos Please send your resume to [email protected].
