About the Course and Venue for the 9-11 Memorail Run. Via easy access by The Western Beltway (SR 429), Apopka's Northwest Recreation Complex is located just west of the nature trails and canoe routes of Wekiwa Springs State Park. As part of one of the largest and well maintained sports facilities in Central Florida, runners will enjoy competitive and casual race routes alongside ball fields and courts. The NWRC 5k USATF certified race course follows a paved concrete and asphalt path, circles a large pond and water fountain, and extends by long straightaways between ball fields and forest. Fast times are common after competing on this nearly level route.
