NAPERVILLE, IL — Two men face federal charges after prosecutors said they stole 12 guns from a firearms dealer during looting that took place June 1, 2020, in Naperville.
Eric Rowe, 36, of Bellwood, and Roneal Nightengale, of Glendale Heights, were charged with conspiracy, stealing firearms from a licensed firearm dealer and illegal possession of firearms by a convicted felon. Nightengale, who was taken into custody in Arizona in early June, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The indictment against Rowe and Nightengale alleges that the pair — and an unnamed "co-conspirator" — broke in to Shoot Point Blank, 560 Frontenac Ct., just after 9 p.m. on June 1. Rowe, Nightengale and the "co-conspirator" are further accused of taking 12 pistols from the gun shop before fleeing by car, according to prosecutors.
Nightengale is set to appear in court Thursday for a detention hearing. Authorities issued a warrant for Rowe's arrest. Police said the "co-conspirator" has not been indicted as of Wednesday morning.
