JOLIET, IL — Members of the Joliet Police Department are out looking for a 38-year-old Joliet man who is accused of attacking a woman in late April, breaking her leg and hitting her in the face, chipping her tooth and lacerating her lip. Charges were filed Tuesday against Derek K. Webb, who lives in the 1600 block of Moore Avenue, according to his arrest warrant. Will County Judge David Carlson has set bail at $250,000 for Webb, who remained at large as of Wednesday afternoon. Will County prosecutors charged Webb with two counts of aggravated battery. On April 19, prosecutors say, Webb caused great bodily harm to a woman when he grabbed her and threw her to the ground, causing her to fracture her leg, the criminal complaint states. In the second charge, also from April 19, Webb struck the same woman in the face, causing a lacerated lip and chipped tooth, prosecutors said. Joliet Police Detective Don McKinney checked the box for yes, informing the judge that he wants to be notified in the event that Webb is captured and arrested by police.
