Don't read any further if it freaks you out to have a cat that regularly kills mice, chipmunks, rabbits, and sometimes birds. I think it would be great if cats did not, by nature, kill other animals. But since I eat meat every day, I don't feel I am in any position to judge my cat's killing of other animals. My personal philosophy is that it is cruel to keep cats indoors. Maybe it is ok for some cats, but for some it is pure psychological torture. Zoey needs to be an outdoor cat. But not a 100% outdoor cat. She is very sweet and cuddly after she has had some outside time and very cuddly in the winter! She loves dogs and I think she would be fine with kids. She loves her indoor time as much as her outdoor time. The reason I am looking for a new home for her is that I have a dog who needs to have a dog door. Unfortunately, Zoey often brings her captured animals home alive and jumps through the dog door and dumps them into the house when I am not at home. I have lived with this sad situation for two years now but I just can't take it anymore. I am hoping that a home exists out there somewhere who could give Zoey a happy indoor/outdoor life. Someone who could make sure she has no animal in her mouth when it is time for her to come back inside. A country home would be great. No apartments or homes on busy streets. She is six years old and up to date on all shots and flea/tick meds. She has lived with other cats too in the past. She will make a wonderful pet for the right person. Also she loves to go for walks in the woods and will stay right with you without a lease.
