CLAY, AL — The newest member of the Clay City Council was sworn in Tuesday night. LeWayne Allen was appointed to fill the last vacant positions on the council, according to a Trussville Tribune report. Allen, who served on the city's Planning and Zoning Commission, was appointed to fill Ben Thackerson's seat. Thackerson and Councilor Dennis Locke both resigned from the council May 25.
