Speedie & Associates is an engineering firm specializing in Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Materials Testing, and Special Inspection services on a variety of construction projects. Speedie & Associates has an immediate need for Construction Materials Testing Technicians and Special Inspectors to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. We currently have opportunities for experienced/certified technicians and inspectors, as well as entry level technicians. We will train you to perform standard test methods on various construction materials, including concrete, soils, aggregates, and asphalt. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION • High School diploma or equivalent • Basic math skills • Current driver’s license without restrictions • Previous construction experience and/or ACI, ATTI, or ICC Certification a plus RESPONSIBILITIES • Consistently show up for work as scheduled • Drive to project locations to sample construction materials (soils, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt) and perform a variety of tests • Picks up/delivers material samples to the laboratory for further testing • Effectively communicate with contractors, suppliers, inspectors, Project Managers, Dispatchers, and administrative staff. • Completes tasks and submits paperwork within appropriate time frame • Adheres to established safety protocols • Must be able to work a wide variety of hours from late nights/early mornings to afternoons • Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds: the lifting is not constant but it is a routine part of the job • Perform Special Inspections for a variety of commercial construction projects • Must be able to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time, climb ladders, and maneuver loaded wheelbarrows: may be required to walk and/or carry/handle loads on uneven, unstable terrain Email Resume to hiringatpeedie.net
