Location: Varies based on project location (continental U.S.) MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORTATION TO TRAVEL TO AND FROM JOBSITES. Shift: First shift; 40 hours typically but may vary based on need Employment type: Direct hire The COST of Wisconsin Inc. team creates custom themed projects for museums, theme and water parks, aquariums, zoological exhibits, and other unique assignments. A traveling shotcrete/construction artisan/laborer will work on various assignments throughout the United States including, but not limited, to the following areas: grading, reinforcing steel and structure, concrete application, machine operation, plumbing, and carpentry. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Check work area for hazards. Clean up dirt and debris in work area. Perform various general labor duties as assigned. Perform work in many areas: grading, reinforcing steel and structure, concrete application, machine operation, plumbing, and carpentry. Work outdoors. Use basic hand tools: tape measure, hammer, pliers, shovels, rakes, etc. Use power tools: drills, saws, handheld grinders. Perform heavy lifting. Adhere to safety requirements and equipment guidelines. Travel as needed to and from job sites. Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Knowledge and Skill: Two years of high school and six to twelve months related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Read and comprehend instructions. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees of the organization. Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Construction knowledge and experience preferred. Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred. Forklift experience and light equipment operation experience preferred. Welding, concrete, fiberglass, and artistic experience preferred. OSHA/safety training preferred. The employee works in a construction environment and is frequently exposed to wet, humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals.
