Our busy and established local handyperson company is looking to add a new person to the team! The Oak Park HandyHuman needs another experienced handyperson to take on the many upkeep and repair tasks on our schedule as we head into our busy season. We’ll rely on you to keep our clientele satisfied by doing semi-skilled and skilled repairs and assignments within the Oak Park, River Forest, Berwyn, Riverside and Forest Park areas as well as help us estimate costs and labor for upcoming projects. Deft hands and technical knowledge are important parts of a handyman’s arsenal. You must be well-organized with strong general repair, carpentry and drywall skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are valued greatly in this job. We ask that you have your own well stocked general toolbox, a smartphone and a reliable vehicle. We are happy to loan out larger or specific tools and will reimburse for miles between clients. Or usual projects include: Porch and step repair or replacement Removal and/or replacement of plumbing and electrical fixtures Furniture assembly or repair Drywall patching, repair and/or replacement Custom carpentry projects and installation Vanity and sink repair and installation Backsplash installation Sink and tub caulking and grouting Our requirements: Proven experience as handyman Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing systems Basic math skills Good communication ability Well organized and apt in problem-solving Attention to detail High school diploma or equivalent Additionally, while we are able to take care of many home repairs and tasks, our ideal handyhuman will be able to identify and tactfully communicate the need for major repairs beyond our scope of ability to both the office staff and clients. Our current starting rate for a handyperson is $20-$40 per hour depending on skill level and experience. We also offer health benefits, PTO and flexible work week.
