A day of Adventure on and off the bike for coaches to bring back to their teams! FREE FREE to all coaches! Join the NICA Director of Adventure, Melissa Davies, Brian Heifner, and Mike McGarry for a day of off-the-bike and on-the-bike adventure training. We will be focusing on how Adventure differs from race oriented skills training and filling in those gaps with a focus on adventure ride preparation and way finding. Our goal is to make these skills accessible and to help with the gamification of these skill building activities. We will begin with the demonstration of field games for the introduction of adventure skills. The training will progress to attendee participation in the field games. We will then progress to break out groups where teams will prep and plan an adventure activity for another group to participate in. We will conclude with a trail ride around Trek that will include several stops to expose coaches to a sampling of a variety of trail based adventure activities. Participants must be a fully registered coach in Pit Zone. The WI League, serves all Wisconsin high school and middle school-aged students, and regardless of ability level, is committed to providing a positive co-ed mountain biking experience. WI League is committed to ensuring students and coaches learn and practice safe riding practices.
