Space is limited. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Indrajit Banerjee takes the listener through an etherical journey of sound with his masterful sitar playing. Heavenly music brings to life the personalities of ancient classical ragas. A living relic of the mysterious music of India, Indrajit is one of the leading exponents of Northern Hindustani classical music, in the lineage of Ravi Shankar. Indrajit has a special touch on Sitar combined with technical virtuosity and sensitivity. He is an A-grade artist of All India Radio and television and also an approved artist of I.C.C.R. (Govt. of India). He was awarded the Gokul Nag Memorial Medal by Bangia Sangeet Parishad. Indrajit has performed with renowned world music group Atash, Dream Shanti, featuring members of Dave Matthews Band, and Lettuce on Resonate. He can be found on all musical platforms. Interested students of Hindustani classical music can visit Indrajit’s Antara School of Music. Indrajit will be joined by Bijay Shrestha, who is hailed as one of the most promising young proponents of classical music. He constantly endeavors to infuse interest and respect for this traditional art in the hearts and minds of the younger generation. At the age of 18, Bijay acquired a master’s degree in tabla performance. Bijay has shared the stage with world-renowned flutist Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia and has recorded in the critically acclaimed recordings such as Maestro Duets on Sarod, Moods of Meed, and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia Live in Nepal. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Up and coming Kirtan group located in Boulder, CO, The Muktis have the great honor of opening the evening. The group brings alive ancient mantras with eclectic and intriguing musical styles in ecstatic and thrilling performance. The group includes Devin Lafferty (Harmonium/Vocals), Forrest Wilkinson (Sitar/Vocals), Alyssa Beth Collins (Guitar/Vocals), Ricardo Zeevaert (Percussion/Vocals), Anicha Hiruhi Cannon (Harp/Vocals), Ryan Johnson (Bass/Vocals), Mary Catherine (Vocals), and Emily Trenholm (Vocals).
