Description
Learn about pesticides and their impact on honeybees with us! Lecture: Pollinators and Pesticides Honey bees are a critically important beneficial insect species for agricultural and plant ecosystems, pollinating many of the flowers of fruits, vegetables and nuts grown and consumed. Join us as Nathalie Steinhauer, Research Coordinator from Bee Informed Partnership, shares her knowledge on pesticides and their impact on honeybees. We’ll learn what a pesticide is, the diversity of products that fall under this term, and how they impact honeybee populations, as well as current research and some of the questions that remain unanswered. We will welcome our speaker virtually via Zoom on the big screen in our Gallery. Two ways to enjoy our Fall Lecture Series presentations! #1 Join us in person at the Museum! Seating is first-come, first-served. -Or - #2 Join us from home! Register to access the Zoom meeting. The Zoom chat will be open for the Q&A portion so you don’t miss out on the experience! The history of the original Old Colony is one that reaches from Rehoboth to Provincetown, and from Scituate to Dartmouth. It’s as distant as 1639 and as relevant as a moment ago. It is a history that plays like a page-turner, replete with epic battles, brash entrepreneurs, new-for-the-time technologies – and the stuff of everyday life. Things that happened in the Old Colony made the region what it is today and frequently influenced events worldwide. At the Old Colony History Museum, we’re proud to be the keeper of this history. It is our ongoing mission to be able to bring it to life for the region’s families and children as well as historians of every age. Open year-round, we curate exhibits and offer guided tours, lectures, workshops, field trips and special presentations for school groups. We invite you to join us, to personally experience our collective past in a way unique to our region.
