Children’s author and Avon resident Shel Curry is bringing her summer storytelling series to downtown Indianapolis. Her book, “The Bedtime Story Race,” will be available in November 2021. A mother of four, Shel loves sharing stories with kids and this storytelling event is perfect for ages 2-8. Price is $8 per child and each child will receive an activity kit. During the 60-minute session, here’s what parents/caregivers can expect: 10:00 – 10:10 a.m. Check in10:10 – 10:30 a.m. Author Shel Curry will read two stories10:30 – 11:00 a.m. The children will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the kids who inspired the characters. Children will also receive their activity kits to enjoy while parents get to interact with Shel and learn more about the book.The storytelling area is located across from the Colts Canal Playspace playground, which kids will love after the event concludes. Located on the north end of the Downtown Canal off of West Walnut Street, the nearly 1-acre playground boasts a swirling roller-coaster-looking climbing tower, ladders galore, slides for kids big and little, swings, a spinner bowl, twister nets and stepping stones.
