Help leverage the disproportionate burden financial, hunger, education, and well-being in low-income families and community. Donation Problem2021 poverty project in the US that 13.7 percent of people will have family income below the SPM (Supplemental Poverty Measure) threshold. The projected percentages of Blacks in poverty is 18.1 percent, Hispanics is 21.9 percent and white is 9.6 percent. One in seven Americans is projected to have resources below the poverty level in 2021. Texas population is 29.2 million and 13.6 percent of Texas’s population lives below the poverty line. Bryan/College Station is well-known as the home of Texas A&M University, but 28 percent of the surrounding community members live in poverty and is struggling to meet basic needs. Bryan has a population density of 1,944 people per square mile. The average household income in Bryan is $62,526 and the poverty rate of 22.76%. College Station has a population density of 2,378 people per square mile. The average household income in College Station is $73,853 and poverty rate is 29.59%. Poverty disproportionately affects on children, family relationships, physical and mental health, education, achievement and emotional wellness. Also, from an economic perspective, childhood poverty is estimated to cost the United States over a trillion dollars each year. Solution We propose a partnership agreement with your company to host a back to school community celebration and food drive. This will help low income families and communities leverage the financial and food insecurity burden and provide essential school supply needs. The date is Saturday July 31st from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Structure A designated area inside will be provided for all participating vendors/company to display their services.A designated area outside will be provided for all participating food truck and non food truck vendors. Vendor/company can bring their own table, chair and tent. If you do not bring your own table, a table only will be provided. However, tables are limited. All outside activities will be in the back area of the recreation center. Set up time starts at 9:00 am to 10:45 am and event start time will be at 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Location: Neal Recreation Center, 600 N. Randolph Ave, Bryan, TX Agreement will be sent once registration has been completed and donation made. S & F Athletes wishes to Network & Connect with our Community! We want to introduce ourselves, recognize current supporters & network with resources available in our Irving Community! S and F Athletes provides academic support, case management, resource development and mentoring to children and their families in the Irving area, as part of their After-school Mentoring Program.
