Description

Join us as we gather cross-sectors of town representation for an informal meeting to share what you have been up to! The WACN will be a gathering of cross-sectors of town representation including nonprofits, businesses, community members, second homeowners, new residents, current residents…we invite anyone that has a passion for the area and wants to be in the know regarding what other groups are up to, to join us! Rain Date: Thursday, July 22nd (same time, same place). What is the WACN?: - WACN was formed by a group of dedicated area leaders, organizations, businesses and town contacts with the intention of bringing together our communities to create a space to share, connect, support and facilitate conversation and collaboration. WACN plans to: - Bring together cross-sectors of town representation through collaboration. - Facilitate gatherings for communications sharing - Build from visioning and nonprofit network models - Invite folks to discuss visioning, gather as a community and explore how we can support each other. The format: - Round table discussion and introductions – general updates. 5min each. - At the end of each meeting, ask the group if there are things that you want to learn more about – education opportunities are a great way to support each other! - This is a sharing and listening/learning opportunity. The History and Creation: - Approx. 8 years ago the Woodstock nonprofit Network formed which allowed for nonprofits to share updates and resources as well as provide educational opportunities. This was a valuable resource to many local nonprofits for networking and collaboration. The WACN feels widening the net to include others is beneficial to all involved. - Woodstock has undergone two visioning processes in recent years; the most recent effort produced a document that identified areas of wants/needs in our communities. (This document can be found at ourwoodstockvt.org.) The WACN can use this information to address areas of interest and receive updates on progress. - The WACN seeks to bring these past successes and processes together to facilitate cross-sector communication and networking.
