Explore brandy in its many forms, tasting samples of classic and unexpected brandies from around the world. Brandy has a serious PR problem; viewed by many as stodgy, old-fashioned, and fit only for the occasion eggnog or cold remedy, it lags far behind other aged spirits, like whiskey, rum, and even tequila, that are enjoying a boost in popular consciousness. Even beyond this there is the confusion as to what brandy actually is. In this class, we will explore this question by tasting and learning about brandies from around the world. As the wine culture of the world grows, so does that of brandy, as it is made from those same wine grapes. Expect spirits representing the known centers of brandy, such as France, but also unexpected treasures from the old world and the new. Spirits and cocktail guru Evan Christie will take you through the beautiful and varied world of brandy and hopefully help you come to understand this outcast spirit a little better. COVID-19 Protocols: While we are excited to resume hosting events, we are aware of the risk that remains from COVID-19. Because of this, we are asking that all attendees provide proof of vaccination when they come to the class. The nature of our event makes social distancing and masking impractical, so until advice changes, our classes will be limited to vaccinated customers only. Must be 21+ to attend.
