FRAMINGHAM, MA — A truck will apply a pesticide to several neighborhoods in Framingham Tuesday evening as part of routine summer East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project spraying. The truck will be spraying the pesticide Zenivex E4, which kills adult mosquitoes. The pesticide's active ingredient is called etofenprox, and can cause eye and skin irritation, and is harmful if swallowed. The truck will be using small amounts of the pesticide, however. "As with any pesticide, people should minimize their exposure. If residents see a spray truck approaching, they are advised to go indoors for a few minutes while the spray dissipates," the city of Framingham said in a news release about spraying. "Residents are also advised to close windows." The spraying truck will visit neighborhoods along Woodland Drive, Spruce Street, Anderson Road, Lowther Road, Debra Lane, Morse Road, Lockland Avenue and Prospect Street between dusk and near 11 p.m. Related: Beware Of Mosquitos In MA With EEE Still A Threat: Health Dept.
